North Carolina Wastewater Operator Continuing Education (CE)

Online, self-paced training for North Carolina wastewater operators. Explore practical operator courses and review each course’s current Wastewater CE approval status.

ABOUT WASTEWATER CE

Training for North Carolina wastewater operators.

Wastewater Continuing Education (CE) is the approval track used by North Carolina wastewater operators. Water CE Online courses are online and self-paced, but each course must hold its own active approval under this program before it can be represented for state credit.

Operators are subject to annual training requirements. Before relying on any course for credit, verify the status, approved hours, and recorded course number shown below.

PROGRAM FAQ

What to know before you begin.

What is the difference between Wastewater CE and Drinking Water PGH?

They are separate North Carolina operator continuing-education programs. Wastewater operators use Continuing Education (CE), while drinking-water operators use Professional Growth Hours (PGH). A course’s approval is recorded and displayed separately for each program.

Which program should I choose?

Choose the program that matches your North Carolina operator certification. Visit the Wastewater CE or Drinking Water PGH page to view the shared catalog through that program’s approval track.

What if I am both a wastewater and drinking-water operator?

Select Both in your student profile and review both approval rows on every course. Approval under one program does not automatically apply to the other.

Can the same course be approved for both programs?

Yes, a course may have separate active approvals for both programs. It may also be approved for only one program or for neither. The course card shows each status independently.

Does buying a course mean it is approved for North Carolina credit?

No. Purchasing or completing a course does not by itself make it eligible for state credit. State credit is represented only when the course has an active recorded approval for the applicable program covering your completion date.
